STORIES
Marilyn Jensen :
We were visiting our son in LA last week & we went to the Newsroom to
have breakfast. Our son of course recognized Mark & his family when they came
in & sat at the table behind us. I teach in one of our local high schools &
certainly have heard of the group. When I told the kids who I saw, they thought
it was "cool". Our son spoke to him briefly, but we left our camera in the car
& I really wished I would have asked him to be in a picture with me to show the
kids in Wisconsin. I also could have put it in the yearbook - wow, would they
have been impressed with that! His little boy is cute! & my son thought it was
nice of him to be able to chat briefly with him.
Manda :
I met him yesterday! It was awesome. He was in Ridgecrest, Cali at
Johns Pizza with his Grandparents. I talked to him about Burroughs High School
(since he graduated there) and how my brother, Steven Cooney, graduated with him
and still has his yearbook with him in it and his signature! I shook his hand
and got an autograph too. He was really sweet!! It would be awesome to see him
agian, I dunno how long he will be in town but hopefully I'll see him around!!!
Alex Davey :
Hey i've met mark twice now!
First time i was handing out flyers as part of a street team at a show in london
and was given an aftershow pass and met all the band. What struck me was that
mark sounds EXACTLY like he does on film and it scared me so much that someone I
admire was right in front of me. One of the only times i've been truly
startstruck! He was really nice and signed my cd, i chatted to him for a bit, it
was awesome to finally meet one of the people that got me into guitar, Tom was
the other and he was equally wicked!
The second time I was again handing out flyers but wasn't going to get a pass,
as luck would have it and Atticus stall at the venue had a commpetition running
to allow the first 10 people to the stand to meet mark. Because we got in early
to set up we just abandoned the flyers and stodd there was doors opened, got in
and he was great like always. The second time was a lot more formal table queue
type affair but still a fabulous experience! He signed an xmas card for a friend
of mine and a cd, he made a few jokes. Who would've known it was ar0ound that
time that all the shit was going down in the band....oh well. It doesn't change
mark being such a funny and all round great guy!
Well thats my story!
Travis :
I was at a concert in 98" and I was playing guitar at a music station
and Mark himself came over and played bass next to me. It was the best
expierience ever!
